Community Development is an exciting and dynamic field that prepares students for the workforce, community planning, and many 4-year college programs, In this CTE program, students will be taking courses developed by Roger Williams University and co-taught right here at our shcool. Successful students in the major will have many opportunities to get involved with solution based problem solving in our community as this is what the program is centered around: Civic Action. Skills are built into the program through a core set of courses that include management, housing and development skills and a hands-on internship to assess issues affecting modern day communities and community development agencies. Our hope is to develop graduates who understand both how to work with individuals and how to affect communities' positions within the context of larger social institutions.
